I bought a pair of Atomic Hawx ski boots here and Will was very helpful as a boot fitter. He asked lots of relevant questions, including my skiing ability and if there were any specific problems I’ve had with previous boots. He also had me try on multiple boots and gave helpful recommendations. I added up adding a foot bed as per his recommendation and now have the most comfortable ski boots I’ve ever had and they ended up being on sale!
After a terrible experience at Ski Cellar (North), I was redirected to Ski West. Josh had stellar customer service and was extremely knowledgable and helpful in finding me ski boots. I told him what I was looking for and he replied with "word". From that moment on I knew I was in good hands. Highly recommend.
The staff was knowledgeable and so helpful when finding a new ski set up. They made sure I was in the best gear for me—not trying to up sell me or put me in gear outside of my riding abilities. They took their time with me and made sure I was leaving happy and comfortable!
This store is the best! I have been coming for years and they always give phenomenal service. Shout out to Dylan and Matt the tech for all their help this week getting me set up for the season. Much appreciated!!
One of the better ski shops in Alberta, Great selection of gear, along with capable and knowledgeable bootfitters on staff.
While I have and will continue to use the Ski West retail shop, I will no longer be using their tech/repair shop.
I'd heard of below quality binding mounts from Ski West from friends, but I experienced my own low quality mount last year which I'm still having recurring problems with.
The problems:
- mounted with crampon spacer incorrectly installed (had to remove both toe pieces and re-install)
- mounted without plugging previous mount holes (had to remove both heal pieces to plug holes and reinstall)
- they evidently buggered up one of the heal mount holes, and rather than let me know, they just glued in a short screw that did not bite into the ski but appeared to be mounted correctly from the surface. I only just discovered this 1 year later because I noticed the screw was loose.
Not only do I have a likely compromised binding due to the remount, but I also had to make 2 extra trips to the shop and wait an additional week to get my skis.
Great shop. Shoutout Ally for taking the time to layout a couple boots for me to try, talking through the differences, and finding something that worked for me. Techs there also did a binding mount for me, I was missing some hardware and they figured it out no problem.
Went in with a broken break & was helped by Matthew K. He installed my break as well as fixed my loose binding within five minutes & no extra charge! Definitely a great employee & will recommend my friends to ski west because of my experience with Matthew!
